Coach
Ryan Affleck
Ryan Affleck is a current AA-rated beach volleyball player in California and a former First Team All-League setter at UC Davis. Before transferring to UC Davis, Ryan founded the Men’s Club Volleyball Team at Santa Rosa Junior College. In the program’s second year of existence, he lead the team to a 2nd-place national finish. Transferring to UC Davis, he competed at the Division I club level, earning First Team All-League honors and helped guide his team to finish 5th in the nation.Ryan has deep roots in the Sonoma County volleyball community. He began building the boys’ program at Willowside Middle School in 2005 and went on to establish the program at El Molino High School the following year. As a player, he led El Molino to an MCAL Championship his junior year and earned First Team All-League recognition along the way.Following his collegiate career, Ryan transitioned into coaching at the collegiate level. He led the UC Davis men’s Division I club team for two years and later coached the women’s Division I club team for another two years. During that time, he founded the Colberg Classic tournament, honoring the legacy of Gary Colberg while creating competitive opportunities for college club teams to compete against alumni and semi-professional programs from across the state.Now back in Santa Rosa, Ryan remains deeply invested in developing the next generation of athletes. He serves as Assistant Coach, helping build the first-ever beach volleyball program at Santa Rosa Junior College. He is also the Head Coach of the Beach Volleyball Program at Windsor High School, coaches the 15’s Power team at Empire Volleyball Club, and serves as an Assistant Coach with Aloha Beach Volleyball Club.
